One Industry - One Voice
The LSMS is your leading advocate for the medical profession before the Louisiana Legislature, state agencies, and the Judicial Branch of government. We promote legislation and policies which preserve the rights of physicians to practice medicine, while maintaining high standards of care.
House of Delegates
The House of Delegates (HOD) serves as the legislative and policy-making body of the LSMS and is composed of elected and special delegates and other as provided in the LSMS bylaws. The HOD transacts all business od the Society, elects general officers, adopts an annual budget, and establishes the official policies of the Society.

What Members Are Saying
Issues like access to health care, fair legislative representation, and federal and state mandates are what attracted me to be a part of the LSMS. I recommend membership to all physicians in the state, especially those who share my concern for the future of medicine in Louisiana.
-Luis Arcencibia, MD (Family Medicine)
It is up to us to ensure the role of the physician remains the quarterback of the medical team. This is what is best for our patients.
-William "Beau" Clark Jr., MD --137th President of the Louisiana State Medical Society
If you wish to have a voice in how medicine is practiced in the state of Louisiana, you should strongly consider joining the Louisiana State Medical Society.
-R. Reece Newsome, MD (Radiology)
