In today’s fast-paced health care environment, there’s nothing more important than having well trained, skilled and knowledgeable physicians and no one knows more about these attributes than the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS). Our mission is to be the trusted advocate for physicians in the state of Louisiana and we have promoted excellence in the practice of medicine since 1878.
Today, we represent 7,000 physicians, residents and physicians-in-training throughout Louisiana. These individuals represent a diverse group of demographics and practice settings within the health care community across the state.

ONE INDUSTRY - ONE VOICE
Your voice is important when passing state and federal health care legislation.
INSPIRE & BE INSPIRED
The LSMS Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates (HOD) offers an opportunity to meet physician colleagues from around the state and to be a part of the policy making body of the LSMS. The HOD serves as the legislative body of the LSMS, transacts all business of the Society, elects general officers, and establishes the official policies of the Society.
Beginning as a physician member, and later as a member of the Board of Governors, the AMA delegation, and now as your president -- I've always viewed the LSMS as a tremendous resource for Louisiana physicians.
